In 2011 P&O relaunched the Oriana as an adult only cruise ship, after a multi-million pound refurbishment. The refit further enhanced what was already an undeniably fabulously charismatic and appealing cruise ship.
The Oriana has retained the historical traditions of the old cruise liners and magically combined it with the luxurious comforts one would expect of a high class cruise liner today. The combination makes for an enthralling, luxurious and restful cruise.
An adult only cruise can be blissfully relaxing and gives you the opportunity to totally unwind. Once you step aboard the Oriana, you will understand why it is the ship of choice for many veteran cruisers. It has an intimacy that some of the larger cruisers could not possibly emulate. The social ambience aboard has seen many a friendship forged and many passengers return.
The Oriana may be smaller than some of the super liners, but it certainly does not lack in any other area. It has state of the art facilities, luxurious and sumptuous accommodation and the cuisine aboard is akin to dining in some of the world’s top restaurants. Entertainment is in abundance and caters for all tastes whether your preference is for a quiet evening, to dance or to enjoy a fabulous show you will find it all aboard the Oriana.
Accommodation on the Oriana is certainly not lacking in style or indulgence. The tastefully decorated and sumptuous Suites offer a butler service, in conjunction with fabulous luxurious quarters. They are supreme, the crème de la crème in cruise ship accommodation. Every conceivable need is met throughout. They comprise of a spacious living area with a separate bedroom and king size bed. The bathroom has a fabulous whirlpool bath and shower. The full length glass doors offer panoramic views of the ocean and lead on to your own private balcony, where you can sit and digest the fabulous vistas bestowed.
The delectable dishes available in the selection of restaurants the Oriana offers, cater to all tastes and palates. You can travel the world on board sampling Italian, Oriental and British culinary delights to name but a few. The Marco Pierre White Ocean Grill restaurant is a popular choice with many.
The Oriana entertainment is ongoing throughout the day and night. You are spoilt for choice, there are so many options to choose from. There are bars and cafes in which to socialise, and an abundance of activities to participate in. There is a fabulous gymnasium, a sports court and you can even try your hand at golf too. The library has an extensive selection of books, or you can lie back and be pampered in the Oasis Spa. If you want to catch up with everyone back home then you can do so in the CyberStudy, or if you prefer write a postcard to them in the privacy of the tranquil Thackeray Room. Harlequins is the place to be if you have a penchant for ballroom dancing during the day, and of an evening it is transformed into a late night fabulous glittering disco. For those who prefer a night at the tables, then the Monte Carlo Casino will not disappoint.
