The P&O Britannia Cruise Ship is a glorious brand new state of the art liner. It is being specifically built for British passengers, so therefore is very aptly named. It took four long years in the planning and its first maiden voyage will not be until March 2015. Captain Paul Brown will be at the helm on her first voyage.
This is the largest British cruise ship ever purposely built and it will have a capacity of 5,000, to include 3,600 passengers along with 1,400 crew members. The British flag will be emblazoned on her bow and be 94 metres in length, the longest version anywhere across the globe. The cost to build this incredible cruise ship is estimated to be in excess of £500 million.
The P&O heritage along with their expertise in cruises has created a stir of excitement for the launch of this superior liner, added to this they have took into account the wishes and needs of passengers. When you first step aboard the eye catching and stunning star chandelier in the atrium will take your breath away. The ship will boast a fabulous art collection worth an estimated £1 million and it will have a theatre that will show fabulous productions, all set against a spectacular LED backdrop.
The fabulous boutique accommodation will be the ultimate in luxury, the Suites designed by Richmond International are intended to provide all of the modern comforts of today within spacious opulent surroundings. A butler will be on hand to assist you on your voyage.
Cuisine aboard the Britannia will be unsurpassed. The fabulous team that have put together the menus includes the renowned Marco Pierre White and Atul Kochhar. An exciting new feature of the Britannia will be that you can create your own gastronomic dishes at the cookery club, with the help and guidance of British chef James Martin. You will be able to dine at your leisure and will have a variety of options. Whether you prefer to be waited on at the same table each evening, or visit a buffet restaurant you will not be disappointed. If you opt to dine in the Glass House, then the wines have been cleverly matched to complement each dish. You can sample the finest wines, along with the finest food.
There will be four shimmering pools aboard, and a children’s pool specifically designed to entertain the youngsters. There will be a deck that will be solely for the use of teenagers and the Serenity Pool and Bar will provide much needed tranquillity for adults. The Reef club will provide ongoing activities and have age specific clubs to entertain all children up to the age of 18. If you are a fitness fanatic there will be a state of the art gym on board, along with spinning classes. A sports arena will provide facilities for those who fancy a game of tennis, cricket or football. You can visit the Oasis Spa to be pampered or the shops to treat yourself. You can stay connected with the world, as the ship will have Wi-Fi throughout.
Of an evening the entertainment will be unsurpassed by any other liner. You can have a sophisticated drink or cocktail in one of the many bars on board. There will be astounding cabaret shows, dancers on the deck will amaze you with an interactive spectacle beneath the glittering night time stars, tribute acts, live music and so much more.
